Are you looking to make a difference in Peoria?
Have you always thought this is a great city with a lot of potential?
Do you want to see new ideas come to life?
There are some projects in the works behind the scenes that could radically shift the culture in Peoria. One, which I am proud to be a part of, is a push to bring The HUB to Peoria.
What is The HUB? Quite simply it is:
Set out to create spaces that combine the best of a trusted community, innovation lab, business incubator and the comforts of home.
Spaces with all the tools and trimmings needed to grow and develop innovative ventures for the world. But above all, spaces for meaningful encounters, exchange and inspiration, full of diverse people doing amazing things.
There are just over 30 HUB’s globally. Places like Seattle, San Francisco, New York, London, Vienna… AND Peoria is a candidate to become one! Here’s a quick video that shows what all the fuss is about.
So yeah, that could be a big deal. We could grow talent here instead of just twiddling our thumbs and waiting around until someone does something. There’s a lot of DO’ers in the area. Certainly a lot of talkers, naysayers and whatevers, but right now there is a great group working hard to move things forward.
A core group of volunteers have taken a school in a forgotten urban neighborhood and brought it back to life. More volunteers have been working to make this dream a reality by putting the vision to paper.
Now is the time we are looking to make the final push. I/We, are looking for anyone in the Peoria area who is looking to make an impact in this community.
We’re going to launch a campaign where we will need help from people from all walks of life. We need people who would/could help in any of the following:
- Social Media Guru’s
- Business owners
- and many more…
It doesn’t matter who you are.
This will be taking place relatively soon so please contact me if you think you could lend a couple hours a week over the next 2 months. My email is readerareadevelopment [at] gmail.com or you may feel free to call me at 309-620-4543.
