If you haven’t already, please visit the Walk Score website [here], and see where your city or neighborhood ranks in terms of its walkability. That is the first step in realizing where you live and how it stacks up in terms of a humanities most basic function of walking to get the things one needs.
Yep, sometimes it’s a little sad… but it’s where we have to start.
Walk On Wednesday (WOW), is something I’m trying here to really get to the bottom of why our cities and towns are so fragmented, disjointed, and stagnate. Many will argue and say things are fine the way they are – but I beg to differ.
It’s a very complex issue, but really you can learn a lot by just walking around. I know that sounds simple, or maybe dumb to some, but we have done a magnificent job in over-complicating our lives and it hasn’t made much difference in the grand scheme of things.
I’m not going to jump into a long-winded tirade (which I’ve been know to do), maybe just feed some posts with pictures and thoughts here and there to hopefully raise the subconscious thoughts of those that may come across this fine blog. Thank You to those who have dropped by to read!
